Make it easy… delivery services
When arriving on vacation, various delivery services are available to make your trip more convenient. Here are some common options:
**Grocery Delivery**: This was something often requested by our customers. We provided this service for years but I have to admit the grocery stores have the best process for this. For the Jersey Shore, ShopRite and Acme deliver to most shore locations. Larger services like Instacart or Amazon Fresh may also be available. These services sell out quickly especially on the day of your arrival (which is typically a Saturday at the Jersey Shore.). If using one of these large stores, download the app and start a shopping list as early as you want to start the planning process.
**Package Delivery**: If you’ve ever needed diapers for a little one – you know how hard they are to pack. Amazon, Target, Walmart are all big box retailers that will deliver almost anywhere. Please make sure to consider previous tenants so that your delivery is not received by a group you do not know.
**Rentals**: This is something I know a lot about. Depending on your budget, many items can be dropped off by specialty rental services like linens, bicycles, baby gear, or outdoor gear. Typically you do not have to be present for the delivery.
**Alcohol Delivery**: My business operates in a dry town but…. there are delivery services that drop off alcohol to your vacation home. Some of our guests have ordered from Wine.com which was there waiting for our guests arrival. Services like Drizly are also a great option. All brilliant options after the hectic check in.
**Other Services**: Many beach towns have concierge services that may be available to drop off other specific items like beachtags.
**Food Delivery**: Food delivery is a little tricky during the summer months. It is almost impossible to coordinate on weekends during dinner time. We recommend planning in advance (possibly before leaving the beach) and maybe getting the delivery a little earlier than you need it. We’ve waited on hold for long periods of time and have called some of our favorite restaurants to hear the busy signal too. Most shore towns us DoorDash, UberEats, GrubHub for delivery. All great options.
