Guests coming?

With the holidays just around the corner, families and friends will be getting together. Preparing a guest room can create a comfortable and welcoming space for your visitors.

A clean and organized space is probably the most important. Change the sheets and ensure they are fresh and clean. If your space is anything like our guest room, you will need to clear out any unnecessary items to free up space for your guests. Clear a space for your guests to unpack and store their belongings, such as a dresser or an empty space in the closet with hangers.

Your guests may need some extras like extra blankets and pillows. Since everyones preferences differ, you may want to provide pillows with different firmness. A white noise machine is a nice thought if you live in a high traffic area or if your living space is a little noisy first thing in the morning like our house. An IPhone charger is a good thing to include too!

Stocking toiletries in a bathroom or in a basket will make your guests feel more at home. Soap, shampoo, conditioner and perhaps extras like a hairdryer, spare toothbrushes, or other personal care items are always appreciated. Thoughtful touches like a bottle of water, magazines and snacks are always appreciated. If getting fancy, a water carafe with glass and a tea/coffee station would be super cool. A small note or welcome card can add a personal touch, making your guests feel appreciated and at home.

Lastly, essential information, such as the Wi-Fi password, house rules, and any specific instructions for amenities in the room (like fan or remote control) are helpful.
