Weather
Growing up our family always seemed to vacation during a rainy week. We didn’t vacation often so it was always a little bit of a bummer. My dad never made the rain stop the fun. There were times we would drive to a location without rain and spend the day. We went to Baltimore from Stone Harbor for the day for a change of scenery and a little break in the weather. Nothing beats the week when we camped in Vermont during Hurricane Bob. We definitely learned the important lesson to not touch the sides of the tent. Spoiler alert – the water just drips inside.
Getting married and changing my last name has helped but my past luck occasionally sneaks back in . We planned a little get away for the teachers convention week but it looks like there is a major coastal storm off the South Carolina coast. What to do?! We are lucky our flights are easy to change and hotel cancellation policies still allow us to back out. Half our trip looks like heavy rain. Charleston seems like it would be more fun in the sun but isn’t everything?!
Do you have similar luck? Do you just go and hope for the best or do you cancel and try to find a better week or location?
A desert would be a good idea for me next time.
